To Change The World

Posted by Libertarians Thursday, March 19, 2009

“When I was young, I wanted to change the
world. I found it difficult to change the world,
So I tried to change my nation.

When I found I couldn’t change my nation, I
Began to focus on my town. I couldn’t change
The town and as I got older, I tried to change
my family.

Now that I am old, I realize the only thing I can
Change is myself, and suddenly I realize that if
long ago I had changed myself, I could have
made an impact on the town. Their impact
could have changed the nation and I could
indeed have changed the world.”

  2. Well it's true that it is hard to change the world, sometimes we can’t even change our self,
Changing the world is a better idea but only God can do it, we have no supernatural powers, we are only humans, we can change it in the way of preserving it, like saving endangered species, saving forest, saving atmosphere, in that way we can change it,

But in this article I’ve noticed that a person who is dreaming to change the world has a sense, because when he was young he or began to dream of changing the world, but he found out that he couldn’t make it, then when he get old he wants to change his family, but he realize that, the only thing that he can change is himself.

  4. Based on this poem that first all is change your self before you judge a people who’s around you. It because you are just like them because you judge them but you can not change your self .That’s way many people are now in poverty because they didn’t help there selves to get out in difficult situation .

  8. I Think it is difficult to change the world because you need to back at the top to change the world and no one can change the world only our almighty God can do.

I Beleive that person can change she/his attitude but you should change your attitude first so, you have the priority to managed yourself of what are we going to do if our almighty God change the world.

Maybe in our dream the world will change.

  10. Ehem....Yes it is true that to change world the is so very difficult, only the Almighty God can change it..Instead of changing the world, we should have to change ourselves first. In our world today the one thing that we could change is to saving our natures, air, human beings,animals..

The person who dreamed to change the wolrd is concerned of what world we have today.. In my own undrestanding she/he does not like our world today. So to change his/her world she/he change his/her selp first..

  12. First of all no one can change the world, except by trying helping the many people on how change the word. They need any idea`s in the right way, on how to change the word, cause its impossible to change it by yourself, not only one person holding this biggest responsibility but all the people who contribute the negative effect`s that happening in the world right now, by helping one another is the key for an effective and new world.

Second, by trusting to our Almighty God in all times by having a faith with him, sparing his words, wisdom and learned to be with him always or forever.

  14. The man on the poem was right, if he change his self long ago maybe he have a chance to change his family, his town, his nation and maybe the world but he have only a little percent of chance to change the world because he is just a human being,he is just a man,he is powerless he have no power to change the world only GOD can change the world and make the world go round. . .
but he have a point bout saying "if he change the his past life he maybe make an impact changing his family, his town ,his nation and the world,
but like I said later maybe he have a little percent of chance of changing the world. . .

  16. I admire the author who wrote this poem because change starts with a dream, putting it to reality , realizing it maybe a failure or success but the fact is he made a conscious effort of making a big change to make this world a better place.

There was a famous quote once said “ the only thing constant in this world is change…”
I believe that to change the world one must start with oneself because only by then you could influence other people and make little but consistent difference in your community or society.

I have known one great national hero who made such a difference to liberate our country from tyranny, corruption and iron hands. His bravery, dedication and love for his country and fellowmen outweighs his fear of imprisonment, injustice, extradition and even death.
He was quoted saying, “ Filipinos are worth dying for.” Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino wanted to change his country and he succeded …at the expense of his life.

Change is not drastic , it’s a continous process. It needs someone with a dedicated heart to be able to stand and live by ones ideal. Changing the world is seem impossible and unrealistic, one person cannot carry on with this responsibility it must be a joint effort not only by individuals , groups, organizations but by nations.

Now, countries are getting awareness of what’s happening with our world. Organizations such as United Nations, Red Cross , World Health Organization and etc. were established to be able to disseminate and gather information, extend and get support, supplies and so on… needed to be able to sustain the needs of existing countries in dire help.

Changing the world is not impossible, it just needs one brave step to do it. It must start with me.

agree! yea its true, you better change your self before changing anything...

    changing the world..
i dont know if the world
    will change or not!,

but i believe the world will
change if all of the people
    have the same thought,

    common sense, cant you change
the world if the people doesn't
    agree to your idea?

or are you the only one whos
    living on this world?

    think about it

    you can never
    change the world
    by yourself.

  20. As a human being, its so hard to change the world instantly, because we cannot force man to change his daily habit or Vices his lifestyle and his behavior..What more if he wanted the world to change..? like if he wanted the world peace.!!
All he had to do first, is to change his lifestyle and behavior..disappear the hatred which is in his heart and change it into forgiveness, abolish haughty but he must become a humble and not be a greedy but giver., Avoid lazyness but he must be a diligent. If he Already apply it in himself, his family will little by little obey his will.,because they would think that he is the right man who will had to change the world.

Now, the impact of his family would convience neighbor to change the bad attitude, then their town will necessary to follow, so on to their Nation, until the good attitude will spread into the whole world. So the world become Peace.!

Indeed the world has a good manner, every one will agree & help
what the best things to do. like to save mother earth, prohivited cutting immature trees to avoid flood, but Planting more trees, not to burn grasses to avoid Global Warming. By fishing don't use bomb to prevent immature fishes dead., but more factories are used chemicals, they must operate safely to avoid air pollution.,
And everybody must clean up sorroundings to maintain the beauty of our nature.,and these is how the world changed., although it takes long time but necessary.

Many of people do bad things, because of bad influence so that some of youth is indicates in drug addiction,so if I am a youth today I change my bad attitude....
All he had to do first, is to change his lifestyle and behavior..disappear the hatred which is in his heart and change it into forgiveness, abolish haughty but he must become a humble and not be a greedy but giver....
So when you have a problem just call his name our Jesus Christ because if you have faith in God all your problems will solve....
He realize that the only thing tat he change is himself..

  24. Nobody can change entirely the world. A Lincoln, a Kennedy, a Reagan, a Clinton, and now a Obama or a McCain can not change the world without cooperation from the entire world and without first changing thyself into what can be seen as an agent that can change the world to a better place to live in.

Change cannot also result in the shortest possible time because it takes years before change can be observed or felt.

Take for instance the “NO SMOKING POLICY of Davao City”. It took years before people followed what Mayor Rodrigo R. Dueterte has time and again lectured that not smoking will be beneficial for our health and our city. Now, what has happened lesser people are sick with respiratory diseases which mean savings for the procurement of drugs in the city health office and Davao City has become a tourist attraction in Asia, known for its no smoking policy and tight fisted Mayor.

Lastly, I can contribute to all the changes in my City by contributing on my own small way.

  26. Well I cant say is that changing the world by your self is impossible, because the world is so big, even me in my place, I cant change the my own house, my barrangay, my neighbors.

All i can help is that giving them the idea`s on how to change the world
because no one can ever change the world except by helping one another to build a whole new world.

And by trusting to our almighty Lord.

  28. I could say in this paragraph about a young person showing his interest to help to change the world but they found out that they aren’t strong enough in changing the world. A nation is a group of people bound by a common government, which is we should always remember that the young people are the only hope to change the nation. We should always think about it, every young people have different character, personality, attitude and most of all interest. We have different ideas, plans, in doing the right things

They tried to change towards their family because they found that they could not change the town or the whole nation if his family is not thinking about it. It is really hard to plan alone everything what is good for your family, but no one can change it except, except who live in it. When we grow older we realize that only our self can change the nation, the town, our family and world. But in this situation I can recall myself while I am growing, I discover lot of things that is good for me and for the sake of my family.

It means that I reach my desire to realize that only myself can change the town through helping and serving those people that effectively change the nation and the world. It emphasize in this paragraph to be able to commit myself in where I am supposed to be. I sacrifice my career to raise a family and the fact I will excel in whatever I do to deserve as a responsible person that I should be taking care of myself the way I carry to the other people… all I want to say is do we have our own personality to think for the future, you must have your better idea.
